Be the first on your block to own a Titus Andronicus necklace!

Over fifty new items are available at Idol Ceremony! I also now offer gift wrapping, both traditional and eco-friendly options.

To get the word out about my store now that Christmas shopping is upon us, I'm doing a tell-a-friend sale from now until Wednesday evening. How it works:

1) You link to http://idolceremony.etsy.com on your LJ.
2) You pick an item that you want to purchase.
3) Come back here and tell me what it is.
4) I list it as a reserve for you at a 30% discount!

If you're buying three or more items, you can combine this discount and the bulk order bonus item offer. The sale will end Wednesday 10 p.m. EST.

(Sorry if you've had to see this post already; I'll be reposting this daily 'til the sale is over tomorrow.)

This is completely hypothetical and I won't assume that you plan on purchasing anything from my site if you answer; I'm just trying to get a feel for whether people in general would be interested in this sort of thing.

I visit Shakesville infrequently now, because although in many ways it is awesome, in some ways it also makes me want to scream and throw things. I read a bunch of posts there today, however (I'm in diss-chapter-finishing-avoidance-mode) and found two very cool things:

1) Awesome compilation of photos of women farmers from around the world.

2) Brain-meltingly adorable photo of Obama and his baby niece here, and another here.

WANT.

IT IS IN THE UPPER 40s. IN GEORGIA. IN OCTOBER. IT IS ONLY SUPPOSED TO GET UP TO 51° TODAY. I AM SO HAPPY ABOUT THIS THAT I ALMOST CAN'T STAND IT.

Now if it would just quit raining for five minutes.

If you had your eye on any Halloween/literary gothic/True Blood items that got snatched up, you may want to check out the shop--I've remade and listed twelve previously sold items. There's also three new ones: bracelets inspired by Elizabeth I, Duessa from The Faerie Queene, and the Magister from True Blood.

Seeing the town where your husband grew up (town square right after grocery store scene) all post-apocalypticized=SERIOUSLY WEIRD.

Queen of the Damned is on TV. I haven't seen it since it was in the theater seven years ago (fortunately, I saw it for free). This movie... I remembered being nearly traumatized by how bad it was, but damn. This movie is aggressively bad. It's maliciously bad. It wants the viewer to suffer.

Also, Lena Olin. What the damn hell? She should know better.

We got a month-long free trial of Netflix. You know what this means? It means that I will, for once and for all, figure out what the fuss over this whole Mad Men thing is.

Okay, in response to my last post, [info]metamorphogenic commented with this, which made me laugh so hard I couldn't breathe:

The word "Sookie" (SUCKY!!!!) quickly becomes absurd and meaningless much in the same way the word "fuck" does in this. And I particularly loved the clip of Bill telling Sam that Sookie doesn't like being told what to do, followed by a montage of Bill telling Sookie what to do.

You know how some people think True Blood is ridiculous and overwrought and love it for that very reason, and some think it's ridiculous and overwrought and therefore utterly stupid? Although I have always fallen firmly in the former camp, watching this, I can understand the perspective of the latter. Just a little.
